We are Dedicated to a life embracing compassionate awareness and action. We support and inspire ourselves and those around us to fulfill their life path and destiny. We focus on balancing the body, heart and mind. We commit to practice Skills of Right livelihood in several areas, such as physical well being, Mental health, financial stability, a balanced diet approach for each individual along with a personal movement practices such as Yoga, Tai Chi , Chi Gong or movement of the students choice to utilize in both instructor and students role as evolving practitioners in the health field. Work, Nutrition or other modalities and degrees one may have already attained. Each class compliments the growth of the individual and gives group support.
Our School’s commitment is to practice within the modalities we teach. As we grow together as a community we witness an unfolding process of synergy. Our goal as instructors of ISHA is to evolve human consciousness skills of Loving Kindness, Compassionate and Empathic communication and touch, and the promotion of internal and external world Peace and equanimity. We work with our speech and actions towards others that demonstrates these skills in our classroom, community and environment. With this intention we look towards sending good will towards all inhabitants of our the planet, seeing it has a whole organism for safe, loving and non toxic living.
We believe how we relate to ourselves and our close intimate relationships shows us where we need to develop our empathic skills. In developing empathy we form intimacy, which increases our capacity to assist others in healing. Basically we want to practice what we teach. Techniques and information taught in our courses are taught with loving kindness. We encourage students to focus on their "way of being" in the world regardless of the techniques they learn or profession developed. Working in the moment, with our body sensations and emotions in our bodywork, tai chi and yoga, and other health classes, we recognize the fleeting nature of time and impermanence. We reflect in our work with others, just how quickly our lives pass by. We aspire in our teachings, that when it is our time to die, we would hope we can look back to lessons well learned, a live of love and relationship in which we practiced forgiveness and giving more than we take. A great accomplishment is a life that becomes an abundant overflow of joy out of right action in our lives. We find after attending the International School of Healing Arts that we build a foundation for the use of Metta practice, known as the "Brahmaviharas" of Loving Kindness, Compassion, Equanimity and Joy. When these attributes are developed they enhance everything we do personally and professionally. Come join us for a journey into developing wisdom and compassion in your self and your work at the International School of Healing Arts.

Due to the wide variety of course options we offer, we have chosen to affiliate with the most versatile national organizations in the country — the ABMP and AOBTA. We have decided to avoid affiliation with the AMTA (a long-established massage organization), as their guidelines would limit our curriculum parameters and course options. Students who wish to join the AMTA or any national organization may do so by taking entrance exams, which all our standards of education easily comply with and prepare them for. The quality education provided at the School of Healing Arts allows students to practice anywhere they choose.

He integrates the flow of movement with the needed basics of Iyengar alignment. He is able to teach the beginning to advanced students details, form and depth in the practice of yoga. With his love of nature, lifetime of surfing the ocean, and his poetry and art work, Mike brings a mastery of creative expression to his teaching. His students find an opening to a higher peace, awareness and healing in his classes and training. Mike attributes the Healing people experience to the meditation they practice in the class. An opening to Overflowing energy once the body and mind move through resistance, and into silence and stillness. Mike appreciates the Integration of his many years of meditation practice into the timing and core of the yoga courses. “ It’s a moving stillness that deepens beyond the physical or mental body”. Zen-Touch™ is an innovative approach to traditional shiatsu/acupressure and Oriental bodywork created by Seymour. Praised by many as the ultimate bodywork experience, Zen-Touch™ evokes deep health regenerating effects by balancing the body’s life force energy. This form of bodywork allows the client to remain comfortably clothed during sessions and can be done on a massage table or futon mat. Applying pressure while stretching limbs in a gradual, nurturing fashion enhances energy flow and stimulates vitality. Every touch combines body assessment with therapy as the practitioner sensitively responds to the unique condition of each client.
Benefits of Zen-Touch™ include relief from neck and back pain, increased flexibility, stress alleviation, improved digestion, posture, and concentration. Zen-Touch™ is unique in its benefit to the practitioner—it evokes a state of being where one enjoys giving as much as receiving. In the class, students will learn how to make their session flow by improvising with clients in a way that opens the body while maintaining sensitivity and reverence. Participants will discover moves that are best suited to their personality and body frame.
Zen-Touch™ is an innovative hybrid of shiatsu, acupressure, and Asian/Eastern bodywork created by Seymour Koblin. Practitioners apply pressure while stretching limbs gradually. The attitude of compassion, respect and "energetic empathy" that accompanies the work, serves to stimulate "chi" flow, circulation and vitality. Every touch combines health assessment and therapy as the practitioner sensitively responds to the unique condition of each client. A dual journey in healing for both client and practitioner. The versatility of light energy balancing, deep holding, stretching, elbow, foot and knee techniques or stimulating hand movements provide the practitioner with a vast repertoire of methods to affect profound changes with clients.
